Relating to occupational disease; declaring an emergency.

Abstract

Expands presumptive cause of occupational disease for covered nonvolunteer firefighters to include any cancer that may result from exposure to substances that nonvolunteer firefighter is routinely exposed to in course of employment as nonvolunteer firefighter. Requires Director of Department of Consumer and Business Services to submit to interim committees of Legislative Assembly related to employment report, based on information reported to director by insurers and self-insured employers, setting forth separate number of presumptive cancer claims of nonvolunteer firefighters that were paid in full, settled or denied. Declares emergency, effective on passage.
